- Fares on Bus Éireann PSO and TFI Local Link services in County Kerry have been reduced by an average of 20%, with a further 50% saving for those aged 19-24 and students in full time education with a Student or Young Adult Leap Card
Tuesday, 31 May, 2022. Bus Éireann, operating on behalf of Transport for Ireland has partnered with TFI Local Link Kerry and Fáilte Ireland to launch a new Travel Around Kerry brochure. This brochure will provide information about Bus Éireann and TFI Local Link services connecting Kerry’s towns and villages. In addition, the brochure also highlights how passengers and visitors can benefit from the recent 20% fare reduction on PSO bus services in County Kerry and the 50% reduction available for those with a TFI Student or Young Adult Leap Card, introduced by the National Transport Authority
‘’Bus Éireann is proud to serve communities across Kerry where we facilitate journeys every day for passengers travelling for work, education or leisure,’’ said Aled Williams, Bus Éireann Senior Operations Manager in the Southern region. ‘’Today we are launching our Travel Around Kerry brochure which lists all of the routes that we operate in the county. We want to encourage passengers and visitors alike to leave their cars at home and take the bus where possible. Travelling by bus is an inherently a more sustainable mode of travel than private car usage, because emissions per passenger are up to 80% lower.”
In addition to the 20% reduction in fares introduced in April, those with a Student or Young Adult Leap Card can now avail of a 50% fare reduction on PSO bus services in Kerry.
“TFI Local Link Kerry provide regular rural bus services and door-to-door bus services to over 90 towns and villages throughout County Kerry,’’ said Alan O’Connell, General Manager of TFI Local Link Kerry. ‘’We are delighted to participate in the new Travel Around Kerry brochure, encouraging passengers to make the most of our public transport system and to benefit from the recent reduction in fares on PSO bus services in Kerry.”
